COFFINTEXTS
A globally influenced artist, Coffintexts grew up in Miami to a healthy mix of metal, techno, hip-hop and Peruvian ballads. This self-proclaimed animal lover will tell you there was always an effortless gravitation towards music, and wild life. Which eventually led to her working with her good friends, mentors and label-mates Paperwater on WetPaper Records. COFFIN was found hiding out at a local Guitar center store, practicing on cdj’s years before this technically talented dj first distilled her secret brew.
Since then, Coffintexts has been a part of multiple streams of sounds.
In a relatively short time, Coffin’s established herself as a multifaceted artist who’s already thrilled crowds alongside other genre-denying artists such as Tommy Genesis, Brodinski, Bad Gyal and Sonny Digital. After a year long disco residence in Faena Art and an almost simultaneous open-format Half-Full party, she began to focus on her own production. While playing sold out shows, this musical artisan has hand-crafted a long list of original works currently being released. First up was the single Juice off of her EP, which is accompanied by an international video collaboration with riveting film-maker, Poppy Baines.
These days, you can find Coffintexts blending hypnotic, bass-heavy originals with prominent melodic undertones.
